Research Objectives

The core purpose of this user research is to:

  • Identify the biggest challenges learners face when studying UX/UI.

  • Understand preferences for learning formats (e.g., videos, interactive tasks, or reading).

  • Explore the importance of accessibility and inclusivity in a learning platform.

  • Gather insights into what motivates learners to stay engaged.

  • Discover pain points in existing education platforms.

Target Audience

Primary Audience:

  • Aspiring UX/UI designers with little to no prior experience.

  • Students or professionals transitioning to a UX/UI career.

  • Designers seeking structured learning paths to build a portfolio.

Secondary Audience:

  • Educators and mentors who provide UX/UI training.

  • Industry professionals looking for resources to upskill or teach others.

Personas

Research metods

Qualitative Research

  • Competitor Observation

    • Observe how users interact with existing platforms like Coursera, Udemy, or Designlab.

    • Focus on usability challenges and feature gaps.

Quantitative Research

  • Behavioral Analysis: Prototype testing (low-fidelity) with 5 participants to identify usability challenges.

Userflow

I designed a detailed user flow to map the steps users take when interacting with Uxology, including onboarding, exploring courses, completing lessons, and tracking progress. The user flow was created to visualize how users move through the platform, identify potential roadblocks, and ensure the design supports their goals effectively. It helped prioritize critical features like guided onboarding, intuitive course navigation, and progress tracking.
